Mr. Kalapatapu is an accomplished civil litigator, with a particular emphasis on legal issues in complex areas of business law such as oil & gas, securities, partnership/ shareholder agreements, and misappropriation of trade secrets.  His recent representative matters include:

• Lead counsel for limited partnership and partners against former limited partner for breach of fiduciary duty and breach of limited partnership agreement. Obtained jury verdict and final judgment in excess of $500,000 for Plaintiffs on these claims. 
• Texas counsel for Oklahoma physician’s group in a dispute against large national health care organization, and large national banking association.  Principally responsible for defense of client in $25 million Texas federal district court interpleader dispute
• Texas counsel for former Deutsche Bank stock brokers in a nationwide series of lawsuits against brokers, their bank employer, and other tax advisors alleging fraud and other business torts in connection with Jenkens & Gilchrist/KMPG/Deutsche Bank tax shelter litigation
• Lead defense counsel for majority shareholders and $10 million IT consulting company against minority shareholder.  Successfully negotiated favorable settlement on behalf of clients.
• Second chair defense counsel for seismic data firm in a theft of software trade secrets litigation.  Principally responsible for managing litigation to trial, drafting pleadings, taking depositions, and examining technical witnesses at trial.  Following a three week trial, the jury returned a no liability verdict in the client’s favor in less than 2 hours.
